About DZ
Zaple HQ currently sits on the South Coast of the UK. It’s home to me, lots of adventure kit, and my wife (not listed in priority order, I hasten to add).
When we’re not working or exploring, I can often be found doing DIY, or hosting some of our wonderful friends.
Paramedic.
I’ve been a paramedic for over 11 years and have witnessed the very best and worst life has to offer. The last decade has really brought home the following message: life is short.
This has made me realise how passionate I really am about photography. My main aim is to capture moments that would otherwise be lost, before it’s too late.
Photographer.
For many years, I was rarely seen without a camera. I had however, never considered myself talented enough to pursue it as a career. In 2016 I was asked (persuaded) to shoot my father in law’s wedding: my first real photography responsibility. I bought a new camera and this adventure began. Recently, I have found real joy and comfort in capturing peoples spirit and the love found in all aspects of life. I find it very cathartic on the ‘dark side of the lens’ often a welcomed solace from the day job.
Paddleboarder.
It all started on the Thames in 2012 in preparation for a huge adventure down the Missouri. Subsequent paddles haven’t been any less epic, as I proposed to, the now EZ, on a paddle adventure in the Isles of Scilly. I am now a SUP instructor with the Water Skills Academy.
I’m building a camera kit to take afloat on my board, so watch this space for more.
